Cracked Milteks

Has anyone else has problems with their miltek systems on their 182? I got mine at the start of november and but mid december the weld on the pipes going into the back boxes had cracked all the way around. Thankfully Miltek sent me out a new one no bother.

Now about 6 weeks weeks later the same welds have started to crack on my new exhaust. its not really very impressive.

anyone else had any problems?

Glad I didnt get one now. Sounds bloody annoying that. Went with a powerflow system in the end and its tip top!

all millteks or all aftermarket exhausts?

i've lost count of the amaount of cracked milteks i've seen (not just renault)

They do seem extremely prone to it! The meg ones seem to be okay but then they are attached to the car at three/four more points than the Clio ones.

Seems the welds on Milteks are very, very brittle.

Yep, my mates on his Seat cracked around the weld on the backbox but to be fair to miltek they sent him out a replacement asap and he patched up the old one and sold it on

me neither...but I liked the sound of millteks on 197s i've heard.

ktecs are either too quiet (magnex) or too loud (the new janspeed PRO exhaust)

i luv the sound of my milltek, then got it decatted :evil:

plus if i have any problems with it i just take it back to where it got fitted.

Ive not had any probs with mine, had quite a few millteks on other cars (cooper s and 197) also had no problems with those. I have nothing but praise for them! (ive also had janspeed, ktec, magnaflow and larini systems on other cars)

mine on my 197 cracked where the single pipe turns to two. Miltec told me they have never seen this problem before and tryed saying i must have crashed and shunted it. In the end they replaced it at there workshop in derby. But my dads friend who used to design parts for f3000 cars so something saw it and said the exauhaust is designed wrong and where the pipes split there is too much turblance thats why its split. Something to do with when the engine pules.

My tailpipes are rusting like a b*****d but other than that its ok, going to get on to them about the rust as its never right.

The welds r piss poor, mine were corroding after a week or 2. Trying to cut costs and its effecting the quality! they need to take a look at their work.
