Crashed the dci this morning oops.

Was driving to work doing about 35 so a little over the speed limit. The back end started to slide silently, no noise what so ever. Havving just woke up I wasn't really with it and it slid onto the kerb and nudged a fence. I burst a tyre, took half my splitter out and scratched the wing and bumper only lightly. If I was going 30 I probably would have saved it to be honest. Whilst changin the tyre I could smell diesel really strongly and when I looked underneath my car was saturated in it all over the rear beam and on the inside of my wheels. I had just filled the tank to brim and it was leaking majorly there was a trail all the way down the road. There was no skid marks in the road and when it slid it was silent was quite eerie.

When looking closer it seems my sender unit seal is completly gone. I have just phoned the council to tell them about the diesel on the road. Ill get pics up later.

oops, hopefully its only a split fuel line or something become loose. hope you get it fixed soon mate.

When I opened up the sender unit cover it was fuel of diesel and its all running down the tank.

I just phoned renault, it is £25 for the ring and rubber seal so hopefully that sorts the problem out.

wont the fuel cut off switch stop the flow of diesel?

Doesn't have one I don't think. I don't think it would sense it was leaking anyway
