Hi everyone,

I've not had much of an opportunity to post a Project page up of the new car yet due to moving house and all this Coronavirus shite, so here we go.

I bought the car around around a month ago. I've been a Honda man for a long time and fancied something a bit smaller and more nimble. I've not had much of a chance to really test the car at all due to a combination of poor weather, crap tyres and this f**king virus.

It's a FF Cup, very low genuine mileage (53k). It comes with a KTec cat back system, Cooksport springs and has the dogbone uprated mount. The engine is a little noisy but I've had it looked at by any Independent Renault specialist and they can't find anything wrong with it.

I've already ditched the no marque tyres for some brand new Michelin PS3 all round. Next plans are to get some wheel spacers to give it a wider stance, possibly an OMP Targa Steering wheel and a PMS shifter but for now I'm enjoying it as it is. I'll also be getting the cat mod done to remove the horrible whistling noise on WOT.

It's a nice little car to pootle around in as it's got plenty enough power for me as I'm not after big power. Looking forward to being able to drive it properly in a few months and possibly get a trackday under my belt. Very impressed with the brakes, they're phenomenal compared to my DC5 Integra, and the chassis feels good.

A few pics attached guys.

Cheers

Cheers guys for all your comments. It's a really clean example tbh. I'm trying to move away from tinkering with cars too much now I'm 40, besides they're good as they are. Wouldn't mind the gearstick a bit closer and a smaller wheel but that's about it really. I'll likely leave it as it is.

Looks really clean mate. Love silver the most (hence my 197).

What steering wheel are you looking in to getting or won’t you bother?

Thanks man, it's a nice colour and easy to clean. Lol

Was thinking of an OMP Targa wheel, 330mm. YB Racing sell them with Boss hub kits too.

It's not a priority for me at the moment as I don't have the funds but possibly in a few months I hope.

Hi all

Not had much of a chance to update this thread. I've been hugely enjoying this little car, it's been a real hoot to drive since I've had it and it's made driving enjoyable again.

Just a few small updates. A few months back the front window washers had gone, so these have been replaced.

I ditched the no make tyres for a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's which are a brilliant tyre, really impressed with them.

Back at the end of the summer I took it to a custom exhaust fabricator to have the cat mod done, it hasn't been remapped yet but it'll be going to Efi parts at some point next year for this. Plans are to do the Group N timing on it prior to mapping.

I've also changed the OEM brake pads for some part used Ferodo DS2500, the change in pads seemed to cause a few problems with the calipers, so it transpired it needed new ones. Since November it's been fitted with two brand new genuine Renault front calipers and ATE Super fluid. Apart from that it's been spot on this car.

I believe it's due a service in February or March so it'll be in with Renotech in Llandudno Junction for this seen as they've done the work on it so far.

I've got a Scenic Shifter in the shed so next plans are to buy the Yanoo kit and fit the shifter, apart from that I'll probably leave it as it is I reckon.

Passed its MOT yesterday with only a few minor advisories.

Oil and filter was also changed.
