creaking from cold

quick question

park my car @ work through the day when i first get in there is a loud creaking comein from the front left of the car car but after a short journey the noise stops

what could this be down to ?

Mines does this its probably one of the springs

As above possibly a spring has become un-seated or snapped. Or it could be a problem with the steering rack.
