Creating Letterheads?

How do you do this?

I have indesign infront of me...do I just place images etc on a a4 letter page and thats it? is there a way of saving it so it can be opened in word etc as a template?

You can save it as a pdf if that helps?

Use the text box to do text and use the picture box to place pictures and place them where you want them.

It is not a word processor so don't think like one. Its a drag and place application.

You can export as PDF or JPG if you want to place stuff in word.

make the actual image etc.. of your letter head in photoshop or illustrator then save it as a jpg or similar then go into word and stick the image into the header/footer sections. you may have to widen the margins of the header/footer to get it to fill and position right

Thanks, im not really too worried about the Word thing, just thought it would be cool to be able to open a letter document and the letterhead would already be there.

Think I might design the actual letterhead in AI and then import it into Indesign.
