Well the z isnt long away :( instantly gutted, great looking and sounding car but on to the next one.

Picked this up a while back as a stop gap , I'm still 50/50 whether to keep it, in which case things are gonna get real tropical over at cro's garage over the coming months. Or keep it a few months in the hunt for an sti hatch or similar

But here it is, fully loaded with every extra needs a bit of a tidy here and there but a perfect base for my plans anyway. Initially I thought god this is slow it gonna bore the life outta me, which slow it is but I forgot how much fun my Clio was on B roads and a blast home there soon had the smile on me

Should have kept the 5dr 182 though, so much more raw fun

It's awesome. Been a long time since i've appreciated a nice Black R27. Used to see a lot on here.

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Stuck the spacers and kw's in a couple of weekends ago but the weather has been shocking so no photos until now

Rear is as low as it goes, needs custom springs if I want to go any lower. It's settled ok, handles brilliantly so ill see how it goes for now. Bigger things to be spending money on for it anyway

25mm all round, could probably have squeezed in a 30 in the rear but keeps it balanced all round and a bit of space for new wheels if needs be

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Cheers guys, no doesn't catch at all. I can hear it hit the arch liner when I've a few in the car and hit a bump in the road but not badly

Re: Cro's r27 f1

This makes me want to bring my 182 down! Needs top mounts though I think before that happens though. Hopefully within the next two weeks it'll be coming down. How practical was your 182 at the height it was at?

As said on RMS, looks fantastic!

Re: Cro's r27 f1

It never caught or scraped on anything and it was pretty low. Handled like a go cart too Steven, get it down on some decent coilovers and top mounts. Gaz golds and ast mounts is what I had

Re: Cro's r27 f1

It's got KTecs in at the moment (not great from what I've read). I was going to replace the top mounts with OEM ones but maybe that's not the way to go? Daily driver so don't want it to be too crashy!

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Tigger has k-tec coilovers and topmounts iirc, he seems content enough with them

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Most of these Meganes had a serial of electrical problems here in my country but not that much...

Awesome Clio MK3, still waiting for the day to start on mine...
25mm in the spacers looks nice, i thought it would be to much but thanks to your photos i have a glimpse in how it stays. I'm curious regarding the rear spoiler, honestly i prefer something that goes with the design instead something too radical.
The rear bumper/alloy wheels are 5*, but the exhaust needs something. Perhaps a Tip ?

Cheers.

Re: Cro's r27 f1

You're trusting the engine out of that, jesus I hope it was cheap thats had some serious heat. That's a rebuild candidate not a drop straight in one.

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Yeah it was cheap dude, the fire didnt spread too far into the bay so i'm confident that the engine will be grand but i'll be cracking it open anyway don't worry. If the pencil coils were melted or anything looked like it had been on fire around it i'd have walked away but the worst of it seems to be the likes of the oil cap.
Injectors were fine etc but i'll be changing all the sensors and loom anyway, that n/s wing makes things look much worse I guess

Don't worry bmh, i'll be picking your brains over it all ;)

Re: Cro's r27 f1

Well bank holidays are where the magic happens, megane engine stripped and rebuilt with some arp rod bolts to be on the safe side of things, new gaskets and all timed up fresh as a daisy

Can't beat working in the sun, though now im sporting some sort of tan you'd usually see outside the local nightclub

Quick lick of paint, on with the miltek decat heat wrapped and just waiting on some more parts to arrive. Need some pipework and links and I can get started in fabricating the intercooler stuff and then on to the exhaust. It has arrived but I just need to get everything in place and then work up a link pipe and we aren't far off ready to roll. Still searching for an engine loom and ecu from a megane, absolute pain in the hole to find

These are the tailpipes of the system I went for, it's going to be snap, crackle and poptacular once i'm done with it

I need to work out what I can do with the turbo oil feed pipe you can see has been cut off, either replace with renault (expensive I imagine) or just used a universal braided hose and get ends to fit block and turbo. Any thoughts?

Another delivery, started to work my way through Renault's spaghetti junction of a coolant system. Not a great jigsaw when the originals to work off were a melted puddle of rubber lol

And a nice shiny recirc valve where it was previously blanked off for a dump valve, don't think I want a super loud TTTTSSSSSSSHHHHHH so this'll do the job nicely, i'll look like i'm sponsored by forge by the end of this build
