cross threaded my wheel bolt (ffs)



  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
trying to get the wheels back on with cunting spacers! Best way to fix this? ive only manged about 2-3mm in?

There isnt much thread in there anyway, so depends how safe you feel?

Install wheel studs?

if you stick a un mangled bolt in, will it not reshape the thread? Done this before but it wasn't as big as a wheel bolt.

+1 But never with a wheel bolt! If it's 5 stud you will be okay for now.

i should if scrapped it when i found the rotten sills, carrying on against your own better judgement FTFL!!

I would take the wheel, spacers and bolt out (if possible) then try and get an undamaged bolt in there to reshape the thread. Are you using longer bolts with the spacers?

f**king car! its just one thing after the other! looks like its been messed with before as when i took the wheel off that one felt loose!

I got the bolt out btw.

New hub it is! (unless its safe to tap) will find out on sunday
