not sure if sarcastic or not

Not sarcastic.

Even when I've been in the wrong they've always been fair. Did come across some tosseur in a BMW who was trying to tailgate me up to silly speeds then pulled up next to me at the lights and told me he was off duty, but I doubt he a) was legit or b) going to report himself for doing silly speeds off duty.

Unfortunately, you may be disappointed XD, in France, they do "on the spot" fines. This is where they pull you over, give you a ticket, and expect you to pay in cash on the spot. If you don't have the cash on you, they will escort you to the nearest bank to get the cash out. I go there quite a lot, also, if you are on country roads, the speed cameras are grey and don't stand out, and they aren't always sign posted like here in the UK. I have also seen police with radar guns hiding behind signs and buildings before, so watch out.
Don't wanna sound like the fun police, but it's worth being aware of. Don't forget all the stuff you need to have in your car on the continent too, if they stop you for speeding, they will ask to see it. Ask me how I know...

I've driven all over france over the years and never once has there not been a sign before the the fixed speed cameras. Sometimes they're hard to spot but they're always there...
I did get caught by an unmarked car doing 130 (was more like 140 though!) in a 70 through a tunnel a few years back and escorted to the cash machine. I got off very lucky imo with a 90 euro fine. To say I was shitting it a bit while they all decided how much to fine me was an understatement lol.
They only kept my licence until I coughed up the money.

On another note 80-90 all day long is fine. With a mixture of that, thrashing it and just running around I got 39mpg over a 3000 mile trip.

I got pulled by one doing 70 in a 70 zone who opened with "turn your car off and tell me how fast you were going" and I was really confused, because I genuinely had been doing 70. So I said 70, he said "of course you were, step out of the vehicle" and then breathalysed me, and I blew 0, he checked my car from top to bottom before realising there was nothing he could get me on, and let me go. That's the only time UK Police have upset me fortunately...

This. Unless the person they're dealing with is being intentionally awkward.
I'm never intentionally awkward or cheeky or even slightly aggressive with people who have the power to take my money licence or even freedom from me, police are
supposed to help not hinder.
Has every experience with them been negative... No
But I dislike being treated like I have done something wrong when I haven't and even one arsehole power hungry one that's having a bad day taking it out on me is enough.

Just to add i have never been done with speeding or any other offence to give me points and a fine also never been given a caution.

I have positive and negative with them, once I ran out of petrol on a bypass and the curb has too high because my car was so low a cop pulled over spoke with me then sat behind me with lights on while I got a taxi to pick up fuel and get back.

On the negative side I have had torches shined in my face and been screamed at get out and made sit on the curb I also had my backseat damaged during a search as well as other things all this has dimmed my view of them.

It sounds like you're doing something wrong/attracting attention/hanging out at the wrong Mc D's or something to be getting pulled like that all the time tbh.
It's also going way off topic!

Lol why would assume that ? I don't drive around acting like a idiot there is a time and place for going fast and mucking about public carparks is not it, I'm in my 30s I don't hang around carparks especially McDonalds I don't eat McDonalds for a start.
Don't tar me with the same brush as them morons because you dislike them.
I live in a high crime area there is a large police presence.
Getting stopped is inevitable how they treat me is the issue.

The fact you've had so many runs in with the police says it all to me lol!

Like I explained I live in a high crime area drinking driving, car theft and uninsured/disqualified drivers are rife here
After 11pm if you drive by a police car you will be stopped especially driving a hot hatch funny that I never been stopped in my diesel 159,
Every day or Sunday there is a road side setup that stops random cars aswell with a guy from vosa there because its so bad here,
Again I'm being tarred with boy racer tagged which is unfair.

Mind you maybe I'm being stopped because I have ginger hair and wear a skirt causenim Scottish lol
