CS Mechanics opinion needed.

The girlfriends dad has a 12 month old Citroen DS3 (the same 1.6T as the Mini Cooper S I believe)

About a week ago it started, on start up having the temp needle at the top and all the warning lights on/Stop etc

It was also losing some coolant. Citroen took it in and advised it needed a new waterpump (after 5,000 miles) as its a recall...

Ok so they did the job and the car was fine for a week or so.

Now it's started to put black some out the exhaust every now and then (it's petrol) and its not starting for 5/10 minutes when cold. Now the temp needle is back at the top and warning lights are back!

Any mechanically minded people have any ideas? It's going back in tommorow although no courtisy car available for a fortnight...

I hate that 1.6 psa turbo lump.

Caused loads of problems in my Mrs R56 S.

Nothing to add other than that unfortunately Matthew.

Just been reading some posts over on the DS3 forum via a Google search and it appears a fair few people have had the temp sensor replaced!

I shall start there then when it goes in tomorrow :)
