Cup 172 loss of power, sounds like a subaru

Took the car out this morning and I thought there was a subaru behind me, then noticed it was me. Engine was shaking and car was down on power. Emission light came on half a mile later, then went back off again. Thought it was exhaust but got mechanic to check and theres nothing wrong with it. No codes coming up on computer. Any ideas? From looking at other posts, coil pack seems like the problem. Will it cause more damage if I drive it for a day or two?

wow that does sound like a true subaru.... loud, annoying, faulty.

Could be a sensor. Did you use a home computer to check it or a proper garage one?

if its a coil it could cause more damage as it will be pissing fuel down the exhaust an you could risk damaging your cat

It was a local garage I use, but its not renault. No faults came up on diagnostics. Car was running 100% yesterday, only serviced a few weeks ago, funny smell when you rev it but didn't smell like petrol
