CUP BRAKE BIAS ISSUE

Im due to collect my Cup in a couple of weeks and have been following the posts about the link between the bias valve and the rear beam. In the last week Ive looked at 2 Cups, both at dealers, one has the link, one doesnt ! What the hell am I supposed to make of that !?!?

I noted the message from Rich-D saying its not supposed to be there, so whats going on. Has anyone got a definitive answer for this ? Its clearly v. important.

Cheers.

Mine has a new valve fitted (link included, I think) and it works propely now. When you drive it you should feel the front dip, even under light braking. If the car sits down under braking rather then dips at the front it is probably wrong as it will be braking 50/50 not 60/40.

According to Renault themselves it is NOT meant to be there, and if you want actual proof ask your dealer to look on the ACTIS system for tech notes for the Cup dated July 2002 and there is a note about this on the system.

Ive seen it with my own eyes as I went into my dealer kicking off about it, armed with pics & stuff, but I was actually shown it in black & white to prove to me that there was no problem with my Cup!

Yours must not have been right to start with then...

My Cup has not got the link and the bias feels correct to me, as the nose dips under normal braking and if you press the pedal more it will dip further and brake in a straight & controlled manner.

If you want you can lock the fronts in the wet, with no sign of the rears doing the same, so Im happy that mine is the correct 60/40 bias.
