Cup Front Tyres

IIRC when I got my Cup the previous owner said the front (Pirelli P Zero) tyres were new, 7 thousand miles later and they are pretty much down to the wear blocks, is this normal? The rears which are the OE Contis are still OK for now with about 3mm of tread on...

and

What do I replace them with, from all acounts it has to be the Michelins?

where is a good place to buy my new tyres cheap?

Eagle F1's did me fine bud. Good price too. I'm not a big fan of the Michelins.

fronts do tend to wear out quicker also depends on driving conditions i suppose, Exalto's are good for wear rate

Fronts always wear out quick, i had mine contisports for 8 k and they was down to the hilt !!! also depends on the way you drive, hard in to roundabouts and breaking fast !!

thanks, it's fair to say that I have been driving like a loon when the roads are nice & warm so I guess that's fair enough then...I'm looking @ £100 a corner for ME2's fitted/balanced/tyres disposed but I'll keep looking...

Swap the rears to the front and put the new ones on the rear!

When I bought my last 2 front tyres I just spent a bit of time ringing around all of the tyre fitters in the area. Was told many times that Kwik-Fit and Humphrie's are owned by the same company - but they will all try and beat each other on prices, so managed to get 2 PE2's fitted for £82 each. Didn't think that was too bad.

yep thats where i got my pe2's, you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere cheaper i would of thought.

i got 10k miles out some uniroyal rainsports which fitted when I bought the car... i was expecting to get at least 15k. I guess I need to slow down.

Got some contisports on so will see what they are like for wear but I'm not expecting great things from the look of this thread!

yeah mine are from costco, only reason 190 for the set is 1, i can claim the vat back and 2, they had a 20% off offer on a full set. but even before any offers a full set of pe2's is 280ish inc vat and fitting etc etc

^^^ yup mine were fitted for about 280, i also got a £30 costco voucher to spend in the store lol
