Cup going in

  Suzuki SV1000S

Guys, my Cup is booked in to renault for the 19th, for Rear brakes (the nocking noise when depressing and releasing the pedal) and some starting issues. However I have started to notice the same prob some of you have had with front suspension knocking when turning tightly. I know alot of you have had probs and had them fixed, so Just want to know what to say to them in order to get these bits fixed properly, Any help appreciated

Good idea cheers mate, forgot about that! Although I did mention the rear brakes to them and they said they had never had the problem before!

The suspension problem is to do with the top mounts for the shock absorbers - theyre weak or set at the wrong angle or something. Anyway the fix involves remounting and replacing your shockers. I had mine done back in June; unfortunately its starting to make the same noise again, so Im having it re-done when it goes in for its 1st service on 23rd Sept. Its also having its engine mounts looked at - Im getting that "engine is going to exit the car" banging noise when accelerating hard/suddenly.

Now then Chaps will reno go along with us telling them about the aktis update as I have the same problems as above (brakes and suspension). Do we need to ask or tell them about Aktis as surely they should be telling us uf there are problems with the car?

Has anyone tried this yet as mine is really starting to annoy me now?

Yes, I had mine done - see post above or do a search for cup suspension probs.

AKTIS is their system, so you shouldnt have any bother.

Hi

Took my cup in on saturday for a grinding/gnocking noise in full lock. Was quickly diagnosed as needing the modification to the suspension turret - Top mount to be removed and the hole to be enlarged to give extra clearance (with grinder). Sounds drastic - does anyone have any nightmare disaster stories to tell about this?? Before it goes in on friday??

Also the exhaust resonates under hard acceleration.

Tell them to look on the Renault computer systems at the ACTIS list!

I spoke to them again (god they are annoying), some dumb arse who didnt know what I was on about then told me I couldnt have my car booked in for another month now. This is Renault London West by the way, supposed to be the biggest. So now I have to wait for them to ring me back sometime to let me know when they will have a curtousy car car ready and they will do the whole lot as I have a massive go at the manager. Quite funny even shoved the keys in his face and said take the bloody car back, was f***ing angry. So now I wait

Hi, I am in Hong Kong and have exactly the same problem (knocking noise under acceleration in first gear) and reno service said to me its a design fault which cannot be fixed!!! Anyway Ive heard from others it could be a few different things.

1 The top monts on your front shocks need replacing

2 The lower arm bushes need replacing

3 The engine mounts need replacing

4 The downpipe is hitting the steering rack

I will be replacing my Top mount and lower arm bushes next week with Powerflex bushes, and while Im there Ill check the downpipe for kocking and engine mount, hopefully this will fix the problem.
