cup options

Hello!
After reading about the Xenons on the cup, I was wondering what options you were given in the way of extras when purchasing your cups????
What have people added?? What exactly has been dropped from the 172 to make the cup lighter. I heard the windows are thinner. Is this true??

there was not a xenon option.

Mine has Climate and is Silver.

+ its about 60mm lower, lol

There never was an option for Xenons on a Cup, so unless they were retro fitted by the owner there aint any Cups with them fitted!

Options available when I got mine were a CD multichanger, climate control and silver paint, but I got a later car and originally the only option was the changer!

I got nothing in terms of factory options...

However, I got a set of carpets thrown in (free), changed the standard CD player for a better head unit & changer, upgraded the speakers (still in original holes), got silverfusion indicator bulbs and fitted a Pipercross Viper.

The Cup does have thinner glass at the front as part of the weight saving!

Also removed are things like ABS, climate control, leather, Xenons, auto lights & wipers, spare wheel, etc... the total weight saving is 89kg!

All of the above, and better handling / performance.

Its also a matter of extreme sensitivity, therefore its best to use the search to save arguments.

Renault promised all sorts of stuff like new seats, roll cage and other enhacements...which basically didnt happen.

Yeah, they offered those bits as enhancements for people that wanted to take it a lot more seriously and get into competing etc... But other than that, the Cup does what it says on the tin.

If Renault had offered those options you just know theyd have been way overpriced, youd be better off getting spurious add ons anyway!!

..."Exhaust sir??....well thatll be £500 pounds with the vat sir.....bend over please sir"!!

..."Roll cage sir??...ooh well thats special Renault 531 tubing sir......roll over again please sir"!!

I did see a cup with an old guy driving it once with Sparco seats. looked like an option..

Oh yeah, I have some copies of the original sales stuff about the Cup and they promised all these "race bred" options for making your Cup into a track day beast....

Seems they were telling porkies!
