Cup performance mods

Im looking at selling my Audi TT225 and going for a Clio Cup - simply down to a recent house purchase where I need to free up some cash. Having now driven the Clio I like it... obviously it was not as quick as my TT although handling was on a par - so what mods can be done to improve the performance of these cars? Cheers...

There will be quite a lot of threads on this if you do a search but I believe most people go for: R Sport ECU, Enclosed induction kit and stainless exhaust w/de-cat this alone will get the cup to low 14 sec quarter miles for around 700 pounds.

"obviously not as quick"

* mailto:B@llsie">B@llsie runs and hides before he gets caught up in the stampede *

oops.... too late mailto:B@llsie">B@llsie is tripped up mid flight, lands in front of my speeding Cup, which is so fast he doesnt have time to react. SPLATT!!!

He is comforted by the 225 owner - who arrives a couple of minutes later, and promptly offers him a free consolation haircut to ease the pain.

Not as quick!!!!! You can drop that mis-informed attitude right now ;)

A standard TT225 is marginally quicker than a Cup in a straight line - FACT. Thats not a mis-informed attitude - Ive raced a couple of Cups when my TT was a standard 225bhp and there was little in it, but the TT WAS quicker. Above 120mph the TT left the Clio. When Ive seen comparative track times, the TT always come out on top. My current TT has 270bhp and pulls away quite easily from Cups, 172s etc. I raced a Clio V6 on the M11 a few weeks ago and he could only stay with me.

The Cup struck me as a loveley car and thanks for the imput on mods - Ill look thorugh the Forum to get an idea of what I can do with one.

Ill ignore the childish banter about whos quicker than who as Ive already answered that one with the Clios that have tried to race my TT ;)

Ill swap my Cup for your TT

Ive had a few mods too:

Ktec Exhaust

Green Air Filter

Hill Power Air intake pipe

What do you say ?

Erm....I could stick with my m8s V6 very well with just a filter. I agree that the 225 is no slouch but standard it wouldnt be much faster ( unless you mod it but thats cheating lol)

Totally agree with you mate! Theres little in it - more down to the driver and having big balls! LOL!

With mods I have its no competition - but agree its cheating - but its nice to cheat! Have got 0 -60 at 5.7 secs and ton in 13.1 from my 270bhp...

Cool it Winston - only being jocular. :D

Sounds like a very good car with 270 BHP !!

I had a few shindigs with 225s and maybe it was the driver, maybe it was the moonlight, but I won. :D

I didn;t venture over the ton though as I believe that is being juvenile.

In terms of mods for the Cup - 14.1 is the best on here with only approx £700 spent on the car. (About as quick as your 270 ponied TutTut)

270 bhp! What mods have you done?
AmD remap, viper DV, Milltek exhaust & Cats, Jetex filter 272bhp on the rollers - cost was about £2k in total if memory serves. Average fuel consumption I get is 28mpg.

Had a couple of runs on the rolling road - last one a month back.

Err love to do that but Ive been offered £24k for the TT ... youre a liveley lot! - thanx for the input - pretty much decided on a Cup, so look foward to joining the club... cheers, no more jokes about hairdressing either please! LOL!

Naaa Itll be quicker than mine. Mine (going of my terminal speed) must be mid to high 14s 0-100. Would be interesting rolling start tho. If you were to get past the 0-60 speed, the rest might be quite close. Over 100/120 and it would be bye bye me!

I think it is fair, as far as it affect me. It is a very nice example and quicker than standard.

Go on.....................you know you want to................its only money !
