CUP Rims 17 or 18

Want 18s so bad and have the cash but I need to know if there is any prob with this size rim??? The beast is lowered 40mm already and they will be the brilliant silver Super Leggeras. Any thoughts from peeps with 18s and lowering??? I have also bought -60mm springs just for the back is this wise? The front is low enough now as I can just gt on the driveway!!! Oh yeah and I was hoping to get 18x7.5 rims. Please help.....

Presumably you bought the Cup because you loved its handling / performance and general chuckability??

If not........... then yeah itll look great for cruising gently around town.

If the answers yes then.....Dont for christ sakes do it, you wont be able to drive the thing anywhere near its limits!!!!!!

Best stick with the sixteens - small compromise I think. If you really have to then go for 17s max.

18s look good on a clio, they fill the arches out nicely. dont lower 60 at the back though, if anything the back needs to be higher

Ive got 17s, and theres a definate loss of something - hard to actually measure the tenth of a second you might lose in in-gear acceleration, but you will definately notice it. Still, lifes about compromises, and I like the 17s & eibach combination Ive now got. Not sure that 18s are necessary - 17s look big enough imo.

Remember, some people bought a Cup purely because it was cheaper...

I personally think its a waste by putting 18s on, too big for a hatchback IMO.

My mates runnin 18s with a 45mil drop all round and it looks stunnin and doesnt scrub on his 3dr 1.6 16v.

cheers for the mixed reactions peeps. Im keeping the 16s anyway so I could have the best of both worlds!!! 17 super leggeras it is!!! Ill put up some pics when all done.
