Cup Vs Non Cup 182 Rear Shocks

Hi, Quick question about 182 Cup Vs Non Cup rear shocks. Basically, whats the difference? I had an 04 182 but sold it a few years ago, regretted it and recently bought another 54 182 which needs some work.

I knew about the difference in front shocks between cup and non cup but didn't know the rears where also different.. Only spotted it when i noticed two different part numbers 8200681125 for Cup and 8200681128 when looking for parts.

Just be a different damping rate

10% stiffer or something? Don't mix cup rears with non-cup fronts tho.

IIRC 172 Cup front shocks fit non-cup 182 hubs fine.

Thanks. I have no idea whats on the back of mine. need to take the front wheels off and measure the fronts.

I am about to fit 172 Cup front dampers on my 182. Should I be fitting rear cup dampers also?

Ideally yes, otherwise you've got two different damping rates front and rear.
