Cup wheels

  E36 323i coupe

Do you though? Cos they will take away from all round performance, and affect the balance of the car.

I think 17"s will add stability at higher speed driving, maybe a little more snappy into oversteer if theres less feel, but with the chip and viper on it will still be the same performance as before at least, but will look much better - especially when lowered on Eibachs

Extra road contact normally increases cornering ability and will only affect performance with slightly more drag, circumference of a wheel fcuks accelleration having the effect of lengthening gear ratios - but the chip and filter should sort this

Yeah you will, tyres work with the suspension and are therfore part of it so smaller profile tyres will effect ride and handling. Though to be fair on the road you may not be able to tell the difference apart from the bigger tyre bills of course..

You dont get more contact with bigger wheels! It depends on the width of the tyre...the 172 comes with 195s and I have the same 195 width in 17" diameter so no more contact with the road than normal!

Trust me you would have to be abnormal to notice the difference in ride between the 16s and 17s

  Weeman sucks ****

Yeah sorry, I did mean with wider tyres, oops! I remember my mates Lupo GTi which had very wide tyres on it and that changed the handling when it got wet. Expensive tyres to, £100 quid a corner!!
