Cups - when do u get the performance

Ive run it carefully for about 1,500 miles and then started giving it some stick. Its done a little over 2,500 now, and although it seems to kick at about 4,500rpm, it still feels like theres more to come..............doesnt seem to be revving that freely.

Suppose it just needs to loosen up. What have you found with yours ?

My 172 was treated well until about 700miles, and seems to get quicker by the day. cant wait for a dry few weeks as i know some pretty good roads to try it out on

Mine is on 20,000 miles now and it is flying .. (mk2 172)

mines not doing bad (172 its the same bloody car !!!!!) at 29K

Youll find at the start it almost feels like its flat spotting in certain places of the rev range. It will definately get quicker - just get out there and give it a good caning for a couple more thousand miles!!

Its a gradual thing and you probably wont notice it because you get used to the power. I certainly need more power now, a turbo would be nice to satisfy my craving!!

Mines going well, especially with just a few litres of optimax in the tank, But Ive done 50,000 kms in 9 months.

Mines just broke the 2000 mile barrier and is getting quicker all the time. It seems to love the cold weather and feels much more responsive when its freezing. As said above, I cant wait for some dry weather to find out what she can go like.

Mines done just over 5k miles now and its getting better...

Still feels a little tight at the top end and this showed on the rollers too, so cant wait for it to loosen up fully.

I was told it can take up to 10k miles for them to really start to work best, and I know that my mates mk1 172 was poor when new, but the more miles it got on the better, and with over 50k miles on it now (work car) its a totally different car!

it goes in stages, I thought at 10k that was it... but just hit 17k and it is realy flying!!! last night back from the gfs Reading to Ongar in 40 mins.. sweet I tell ya

So if I ran the 1/4 mile in 14.5secs at only 2700 miles, what the hells gonna happen now?!
