Cutting my springs on L reg clio.. is this possible?

  Astra GSI, 172, Golf
you can ... but i would really advise against it .

lowering springs are common as weeds for mk1's and cheap so why risk it ?

No, you will now be flamed....

But in answer to your question... No, its unsafe and definately not recommended.

Mk1's only need the front lowering dont they? The rear is a torsion bar isnt it?

Gonna cost you next to nothing for some cheap springs off ebay or such, as the ride of cut springs would be royally s**t anyways.

Yep the rear is a torsion bar.

Never ghetto lower it !! It'll ruin the car & your insurance company will laugh at you if you stack it & try to claim. If you must lower it, do it properly !!

Lol whilst cutting the springs you may aswell port and flow the head the cheap and easy way. All you need is a bag of sand . . .

just cut them they'll be fine, make sure you cut the ends off flush though or you'll fail your mot.

*not that i'd do this to my own car.
