Cutting Out :(

So today i was sitting at the car wash, had been there around 10mins and then the car just died for no reason at idle. So carried on driving home and it cut out a few times when slowing to a stop in traffic etc. The car was warm, not sure if that makes a difference. I'm sure lots of you guys have had similar problems, any ideas?

Having your code reader back might help.
Thanks for the loan.
Ring you tomorrow.

No lights on the dash and the code reader only picks up "current faults". I hope it's a simple fix or Engine Dynamics can figure it out for me!

Do you have the front arch liners in? Water may have gotten up into your coilpack or something? May be worth disconnecting and drying it out. Water loves to get into places it's not meant to be.

Well this morning I have had a look at it, I took the throttle body off and that was nice and clean. I checked the relays in the engine base fuse box and no sign of water ingress there either. I know it will be something electrical, just not sure what. Noticed some other weird stuff that will need attention at some point too :(

I spoke to Andy this morning at ED and he said it sounds like a crank sensor, so i'll just hold it out till next week and they can take a look.

I had a problem where the car was cutting out when you slowed down or braked quote harshly, noticed it was my ignition barrel as the spring in it was gone and the keyrings were turning the key in the ignition haha

Just for future reference if anyone searches for this in the future the problem was the crankshaft sensor.

As a test if you wiggle the wires to the plug and it cuts out then you know that's the problem. Fitted a new one and all good now.
