Cutting Springs

so i was gonna save up for some springs but the they dont take the car as low as i would like. theres coilovers... but your f**king crazy if you think im paying half to price of my car to lower it.

So how dodgey is it cutting the springs.. ive seen it been done so much. but what are your views please? thanks
