CV boot clip broke

  R35 GTR
Grease everywhere!!

I need to fix it tomorrow, anyone know where to get some mahoosive jubilee clips or similar? Halfords dont have any. I have a cable tie on at the moment, but dont think I can pull it tight enough.

Renault supply then with the new gaiter and grease as a kit.
Only cheap £20 or so I think.

No point trying to fix them IMo though just get a new shaft much less haslte.

renaults is probably some fancy ass cobra clip.

any decent hardware shop dave or a plumbers merchant, B&Q, etc

good luck with the interview, if you had more time I could sort you out with a jubilee clip no probs but aint really feasible.

Try a motorcycle dealer they often have big ass jubilee clips / cobra clips round the exhausts.

Good point.

Other option is to bodge it use one or two jubilee clips to go round.

Dave I meant new driveshaft. If you have big balls on the drive shaft stretching the rubber to fit is a pain.

you wont fit another boot over unless you get the joint off and this is a b*****d.
I used a large zip tie last time was ok for 6 months then changed to a metal clip any car shops sell them.

I used a jubilee clip before but found that a tie wrap is better as it sits in a groove where as the clip is wide and sits accross it if that makes sense.

Just pack it full of grease and tie wrap it up it will last a while without the need for a shaft.

And what a good job you did of it :)

Mine went due to the battery side mount breaking and the loose engine putting pressure on the CV joint.

Here is a pic fixed:-
