cv boot help?

  clio 172
hi folks, i noticed to day that i have lots of thick green grease all over the inside of my drivers side wheel, plus grease looks like its collecting around the rubber gator, im guessing that the cv boot is leaking?
does anyone know what sort of price it would cost to get fixed, plus is it dangerous driving on a leaking cv boot?

any ideas would be warmly welcomed

thanks si

you not really meant to drive with it split because the grease gets onto the brake disc, cv boots are normally around £12 plus labour id say no more than about 45-50 mins work

172/182s are prone to the clips on the boot breaking. The boot itself is plastic not rubber so splitting/tearing isn't normally the problem.
