CV boot replacement without a cone

Looking to change the cv boot today on the driver outer, I don't have a cone to put on the boot. I was going to heat the boot up in boiling water then stretch over, I hear online people who have used the top of a coke bottle instead of a cone and to lubricate with oil. Has anyone tried this or is there any other ways of doing this as I hear they are a b**ch to stretch.. also, if I take out the driveshaft from the gearbox do they generally lose much oil?

Buy a sticky boot, just put it over the shaft and glue the seam, piece of piss.

Decided to opt for the easy route to give it to a mechanic as I didn't have the time today and I have track time booked this week
