Cv boot

I've noticed on both cv boots there isnt a cir clip keeping it on only a cable tie :/ is this normal or do you think they've had the boots off packed with grease and then used a cable tie instead or cir clip? This is on the side closest to the wheel, also there is a small amount of grease leaking on one side as the cable tie is a little loose. Cheers

The CV boots popping off is quite common so I would expect they've been packed with grease and cable ties used to hold them in place. Nothing particularly to worry about.

So on the side leaking just replace loose cable tie with a new 1 and all will be fine?

Noticed I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Put a jubilee clip on and cleaned up the grease on the inner of the wheel.

No more grease has splattered so I assume this has solved the problem. Can't see it pooping off either.

I just fitted a universal stretch boot kit for the cost of £3 with all the clips and grease included.
I found the standard boot was very rigid and rather flex on a lock it would just pull its self off. But with the stretch boots being very flexible that problem should no longer occur.
