CV clip

The CV Clip on my 1.4 16v clio has broke causing a rubbing sound , i got the chance to jack the car up yesterday and yank it out as it was stuck in and replaced it with another and now this one has just come off, not snapped.

Are they important to have on as ive driven it today after i took it off because i was away from home to jack it up and sort it so will there be problems leaving it off etc?

Yes , dont drive it mate, it will wreck the CV joint

guess ill have to clip it back on again in morning, thing is it looks like its only holding the rubber surround

that rubber surround is your cv boot, without the clip, all the grease will leak out, then your joint will sieze

mine has got bit of greaseon the inside of the wheel n brake n tht but im still drivin, its goin to renault next week to see if theyl sort it on the warenty, i rang n told them wt it was fr n they booked it in
