CV Grease Cleaning

Car  172 Cup
My cv boot has moved and spilt grease all over my front alloy.

I've removed the wheel and tried cleaning normally with warm water and wheel acid but it just wont budge.

Does anyone know the best way to remove this grease?

AG engine & machine cleaner + old sponge/rag

Comes straight off.

Good rinse afterwards. Done

How much is a new CV boot on these? The clip has gone on mine and now have an offside front wheel full of grease to worry about once I've fixed it.

both my fronts have gone over time, i wiped the wheel out with old rag to get most off then used G101 and warm water, got it off fine.

Any degreaser will shift it. I had this issue with my first 172!! What a job it was! Literally covered the arch and wheel!! We had loads of chemical left from cleaning the karts. Sealey stuff? use it in the wash basins in the garage.

I've got loads of this Crap all on the inside of 1 of my wheels :(

Need to get the Wheel off and give it a good clean

Karl (m0ssy)'s car on Sunday had an issue with the front passenger's side. Rendered one of my brushes useless after not looking and getting grease and muck all over it :(

Same happened to me last week :(
(From mine not mossy's though)

Just an update today I used the Autoglym Intense Tar Remover today and it worked a treat - sprayed it on left for 1-2mins then washed off and wheels look good as new.

Thanks for the pointers!
