CV Joint/Boot

I went to get my mot the other week, and the bloke at the garage said my cv joint or boot needed replacing soon. He told me this by just looking at the wheel area, from underneath the car.
I took the wheel off, and took some pics which im gonna post in a minute.
Can anyone tell me if you can see anything wrong, and where abouts is the cv joint or cv boot.

See picture 4 it's the rubber bit. Check it all over for any splits. It might be worn out though, but you need to know what to check to test this (I don't) problem is usually given away by a noise from that area of the car.

Actually I'm wrong, that was the steering arm. Top photo has it in the background (rubber bit is the boot).
