So I took a bunch of pics with the D90 and 16-85mm lens at a horse show. Nearly all pics came out looking like the one below.
All around F6 and shutter speeds of 1/1000 - 1/1600.
For me, the quality just does not cut it. Could be down to my chosen settings (3d tracking being one of them), but just not sure.
Also below, is pics I took of the same horse at a previous event, using more or less the same shutter speeds etc, but using an Olympus E-620 which is meant to be a not so good camera. This was also with the standard 40-150mm lens.
There is more noise in the Oly pic, but its overall sharpness and quality just look better.
So whats peoples thoughts? User error, body set up or just a poor lens.
