Damage from flywheel

I'm pretty sure my flywheels knacked on my megane 225, I have harsh knocking on idle but goes when I press the accelerator peddle, the engines solid so I don't think it's the engine mounts.
Can any damage be caused to anything else on the car if the flywheels damaged?

i'd say go to SMF but not with the way its all panning out with ktec :( they still seem to be having problems, mines on its way out too...

The noise goes totally or is it just masked by the engine noise? Any issues selecting cogs?

Naith i recently had a new clutch and slave fitted and at the time I was going to go for the smf, I was put off though with the problems it's still causing
I wish I'd have changed the flywheel at the time but was a little low on funds, just hope nothings going to get damaged until I get a new flywheel...

I've just re read my first post, I explained it wrong
The knocking goes away when I find the biting point, not when I press the peddle.
It's been a long day :(

Deffo DMF issue then - worst things ever as customers think i'm on the make when I tell them how much they are and that they need it. Sympathies but what issues are people having fitting an SMF?

Thanks, so can it cause damage to anything else? Clutch, gearbox?
Some people are getting the P0315 / CHECK EMISSIONS Warning light coming up with after fitting the smf, possibly more issues as well, I'm not sure

What flywheel are they using to convert from? My current K4M unit in my Scenic was originally DMF and i converted that without any issue (I know parts are a little more available).

A faulty DMF can cause damage to things such as starter motor, clutch and slave assembly and the gearbox itself.

k tec have had them made up mate euro 3 cars are ok but euro 4 seems to pop this light on saying check emmissions

Im in Nottingham... just want to pop it on the scope and see what the crank position sensor is doing to make it pop that code if the trigger pattern is right. Could be a money maker thats all lol

Hi again, I've only driven the car twice since I first posted about this but I've just had the bonnet up today and I now think the knockings related to an engine mount.
If I push the engine towards the windscreen while the engines running the knocking completely goes away, if I pull the engine towards the front the knocking gets a lot worse.
I had a new clutch fitted about two week prior to my original post so maybe something's not being tightened up right?

It's got to be an engine mount....if it was something to do with your flywheel that you could hear at idle, it would only get worse with increased load and engine speed! This lovely thing called inertia, it's science! Check the rubber mount isn't perished and if it's secured properly, I bet it's one of them.

iv just sorted this
just below the grearbox mount theres a long steel plate (not sure what to call it). the mount was knocking against this every time the engine moved.
the clown who fitted my clutch fitted the plate the back to front, there's a recess on it where the mount should sit. so i'm over the moon that it was a nice simple fix :)
