w**kers mate it is not illegal to have no airbags so they should do this

They won't do it because when you crash and the airbag doesn't go off and the seatbelt pre tensioners don't work, you can sue them for turning it off. So hardly w*nkers are they, more like business people that don't fancy being sued.

there wont be any seat belts or pretensioners. just road legal harnesses

I don't see what your problem is your asking them to turn on standard safety spec items I would refuse to do it as well.

Have you put the buckets and harnesses in? or is it something you plan to do? who dont you put the seats and harnesses in first then a garage might be more inclined to turn them off. They might turn the airbags off then you never fit the seats or harnesses or drive out the garage and have an accident straight away.

ud refuse to do it even though the seats are not there so there are no bags to go off?

If you have removed the airbags and the seatbelt restraints, the module is under the dash behind the ashtray location and the fuses are clearly marked.

If you are not sure about which module it is, the clue is the yellow wiring conduit that is used on all SRS related wiring.

If you haven't advised your insurers, I would strongly recommend you do so.

Hope this helps

will removing that solve the light on dash thing though?

Insurance dont know, but will on monday. They have all my mods listed, even ones i have not yet got round to doing. They dont charge me extra which is nice of them.

why you don`t just put resistor on airbag wires?
that will turn the light off

and you can do the same with seatbelt pre tensioners aslo

resitors should be 3,3 ohms

i did that in mine car and everything is working fine :)

The warning light is powered up from the module so removing it will kill the light.

Won't that disable to steering wheel airbag as well?

And what about the passenger side dashboard airbag?

steering wheel is being replaced soon anyway so thats irrelevent, and the passenger side you can just argue that its not needed as the only belts in the car you can wear now are the harnesses. ure going nowhere basically, so no need for the airbags

Yep.
What happnes when you go put the stock ones back in what happens if you go crash not worth the hastle for a garage for no huge gains.

I dont see what the issue is here.

Do what I did and cover up the recesses in the display stopping the light to flash through to the display - job done!

I even wrote a guide

<--------------------------

The resistors in the steering wheel didnt work for me so did the above when I completely stripped out the 172.
