Damn Reno's

  R34 GT-R & 172 Cup
I finally thought my car was all fixed and back on form....but as always with renos no!

I had a new exhaust put on by powerflow, and now when ever i go above 3k in any gear it sounds as if the exhaust is really struggling and vibrates though the car and has a blowing kind of sound.

Yet nothings blowing

any suggestions on fixing this problem? part from setting fire to my car :approve:

yer still got a cat on it, dnt even need to drive it you can stay parked up and rev above 3k and it vibrates all the car...he didnt fit the backbox to the original hangers he used like a magnet one to hold the back box up could that cause anything?

Are you sure it's not your upper engine mount ? mine did that, very easy to check to see if it's gone..

Ps. It's "Renaults"

Sounds just like the problem am having now mate. When ever i go over 2500 revs it starts vibrating really bad and get uncomfortably loud. Only difference being is i have a standerd exhaust.:S

You sourced the problem yet ?

Just noticed this, nope still havnt fixed it. Have you changed your top engine mount?

Im getting it booked into four ashes renault next month see if they can find out the problem, im thinking its the fact that maybe the other mounts need changing as well...if anyone can shade some more light if this may be a problem.

Plus with my exhaust its had new exhaust brakets put on last year, mate at a garage has suggested that rubber type mounts may give it more room to move around as its dead stiff at the moment.

Hardly Reanult's fault you took your car to powershi-t to have an exhaust fitted is it?

Why would you do that? You'd be better off taking it to McDonalds.

Can't you take it to one of the specialists off here? Birchdown, BTM Performance, JMS Tuning etc?

Are they that bad? it was the closest to me...yer im willing to travel if they will sort the problem for me. Heard a lot of good news from BTM performance, where about are they all based?

  Better than yours. C*nt.
BTM Performance is just off the M42/A45 junction, and well worth the journey. Fred's a top bloke - did wonders with my vee! And I won't hear a word said against him.

mistake 1 was going to powerflow. nothing but utter dogshit ever comes out of those places. Stainless steel that rusts, boxes made of fag paper thin metal. utter useless junk fitted mostly my muppets.

and breathe........

mistake 2 is thinking taking it to renault will do anything but give you serious ring sting when you see the bill.

get your money back from powerflow, and buy a proper system. There's loads to chose from so there's no excuse to use that bodged together tat

Erm, there?

Yer but theres 2 problems, the 1st one is there shitty engine mounts so yer renaults fault

2nd problem is the exhaust which i didnt say was renaults fault.

Well renault wanted 360 for a new exhaust and powerflow 280 so got it done there the exhaust is actually fine, its the damn engine mount crap...now they feel like there made out of paper.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
But is your engine mount actually broken or have you gone with 'it broke on someone else's car, so it must be broke on mine'?
