cheers guys, how can you tell if a shock has gone? i noticed a leak the other day and didn't investigate and prior to that i heard several cluncking noises from the back. the steering feels funny and got very scary the other day. how can i check? i have just looked now and there is no signs of fluid round the shocks so maybe it has leaked dry.

Open your boot. On the edge by the seal, next to the wheel your testing, push the car down. Like your performing CPR. If it bounces up and down, its gone. Compare both sides. You should notice the difference (provided both sides haven't gone LOL!!).
