Data Recovery from damaged DVD

I found an old archive dvd which was full of old photos of holidays etc. unfortunately, the dog chewed it slightly, theres one tooth mark right at the edge of the dye.

Is there any way i can recover these photos or are they lost forever?

is it on the outside edge or the inner? If its the outer it might still be readable or at least part of it.

If it won't recognise the disc you're pretty screwed, but one of those disc scratch removers may work - I've heard they're pretty good.

if its not took the foil off the top it will be recoverable, ie if the mark is on teh bottom of the disk ( the purple side ) then you should be able to remove the mark with a lot of perserverence

is it a scratch ?

i fixed a cd with t-cut, made it look a lot worse but the disc works perfectly now, though obviously ive now copied it
