Day Insurance? Whats the deal?

Car  Civic Vtec y0
Looking to get day insurance nest week on the GF's car as were going down to the lake district. We are both with Direct Line, how much do you think it would be and does anyone have any tips on how to get the best price?

Cheers

Ryan

£10 a day for under group 14 or somehting £20 for over minimum of 21 years old I think. I think the website is somehting like dayinsure.com.

Not much you cna do there only 2 companies who offer it from memory might be worth trying your own insurer.

shouldnt be much more than a tenner or 15 bucks id think? my mate has been on his mums before and was a tenner for a day.

i havent found a single day insurer that will touch an under 21, probably just add you on to gf's policy for a day, easiest way apparantly.

Yea correct! Just tryed dayinsure and they wont take under 21's (Im only 19 :()

Jonesy, will fone them up 2moro and see. How much do you's think it will be?

Have you tried ringing Direct Line being as you are both already insured with them, or is it the fact that they won't do it , so that's why you're asking? It may be worth ringing Admiral or maybe even the AA who might be able to put you in touch with a company that will do it.

I assume you are both 3rd party F+T then.

If you were fully comp on your own insurance you could drive hers on third party with her permission (in most cases) but I'm sure this has been covered before, and doesn't help, so it's just academic...

only over 25 on direct line

should be able to either add to your policy for the day or be named on her policy for the day. they can tell u which is cheapest. i got additional cover on my policy for my dads coupe for 1 month and it cost me £60 (tpo). also consider that perhaps only one of those options will give u comprehensive cover!

Cheers guys!

We are both only named drivers with Direct Line tho, should still be cheap enough tho (hopefully)

Well im impressed! Phoned direct line and they are putting me on it for £9.25 for the day! Cant complain at that!

Cheers for all your helps thos guys!
