DCi 100 TDC sensor?

  2004 1.5 DCi 100
I've been under my 100 today looking for the TDC sensor. I took the undertray off and looked everywhere but couldn't find it. It's not at 12 o'clock on the bellhousing like other Clios. Where exactly is it? The problem I'm trying to cure is hard starting needing 2 long cranks on a hot or cold engine which has suddenly started. Once started it runs smoothly, without any smoke, straight away with good boost and mpg. I've seen that the TDC sensor could be the culprit but I can't find the bugger  I've cleaned the EGR, changed the fuel filter (no metal inside :D) and cleaned every sensor I can find except the pesky TDC. Any help greatly appreciated.

If the problem was just on a cold engine then I would have thought glow plugs straight away, but it's the same struggle to start hot or cold :(

cam sensor is hidden in the engine mount.

crank sensor ( tdc ) is on the back of the gearbox. can be seen from underneith looking up the back

Bad starting with cr diesels is often diagnosed as leaking injectors. Pump needs more time to get the rail up to pressure so bad starting occurs

Hope not :( ££££££££s to repair. I've ordered a new glow plug control module. Guessing the plugs would need to get hot to ignite the fuel first touch of the key, hot or cold. I think I'm starting the car just on compression and heat build up from the long cranking. Hope so. This car was a good, immediate, starter until this problem suddenly started.
