dCi 65 > dCi 100 conversion. Hard to do?

Is it hard to do? I know the 65 doesnt have an intercooler so I would have to get that at least - I have a dCi 100 ECU in there already (long story) so is there much to do?

Well, the 65 (like mine and yours) uses the same turbo (if it is from KKK, KP35). On the 65 the turbo pressure is 1 bar and on the 82 the pressure is 1.2 bar. And level of safe operation is 1.5 bar of the KP35 tubo. If your Clio DCI uses a Garrett turbo then I am unsure of the turbo pressure.
You could mount a big intercooler and get a remap to 100 hp. But that would press the turbo alot more that standard. I would do it. Maybe to 80 hp but no more.

Okay. Then I would not push further. But you could with a different remap and mounted intercooler.

ECU's are the same so doens't matter. To many bits to swop engine swops the best idea but to much effort realy.

1.1~ 1.15 bar on the 65 about 0.1 bar higher on the 80.

Safe level of boost is a bit of a querable area 1.5 bar of boost might not get you any more potential power infact most lily would reduce power potential.

Intercooler will help increase (potential) power due to charge density being better regardless of boost.

Stock engine can be pushed to 95hp but that exteme and not same IMO mapping.

Best way to power bigger injectors 80 for a start the 100's run hihger pressure so need to get new pump and custom made havn't been done yet but thats where the real power lies.

As edde says.

Not really followed the dci tuning bonanza.

But in general, diesel power is all about the fuel.

More fuel = more power.

Boost increase just works on the basis that

More air = more fuel

But standard, the boost and fuel pressure can both be increased a fair bit. I had a superchip in mine a while ago, it did make a difference, video evidence proves it's faster (was just under 10 seconds for an average 0-60, which means I wouldn't be suprised to see a low 9 second sprint pulled off correctly) and it saw off many a VTR and Clio 1.6.

Back to standard now, got a plugin tuning box today for the Southeast run this weekend, and it's pretty poor... Recommend Superchips whole heartedly.
