DCI engine BHP information????

  1.5 dci 80 ???
Hi all, new to this forum and clios in general (bought a dci today)

I was wondering, are there any physical signs on a car to tell you what the variant 65, 80 or 100 BHP of the dci engine is in the car.

I bought what was advertised as a dci80 today and on the way home from the dealer the car didnt really feel like it was 80BHP????

So i looked at the stickers on the car (drivers door) and niether of them told me.

Is there a way to find out if this has been wrongfully advertised????

Cheers

The dci100 has the C and the I both blue on the side, think they also say on the engine cover as well. the 80 and the 100 will also have rear discs.

  1.5 dci 80 ???
yeah - so i have been sold a lemon!!!!

I rang renault this morning after finding out the origional dealer, and the informed me of the engine code and that in fact the car is a dci65.

Called the other guy back and he is coming to pick the car up off me tonight with a full refund.

Glad i got into this now - or i would have been unhappy for the next year!!!!

thanks to all for info

get a dci 100 m8 if you can stretch there good for 123bhp from RStuning and 190lbft torque (more than 182) ohh and there just about the lightest clio at 980kg 30kg less than a cup ! ins grp 5 and 65mpg with a remap i think it will really pull in gear more than it has any right too.

I'v a 65hp which has been hammered for 62k and much freer now.
At the airfield today some drag racing a 1.4 16V and there was very little in it 2 car lengths after some time.

Hi,

The best way would be to look at the engine codes, as described earlier ;)

You could also look at the intercooler. The dci65 doesn't have one, and the dci80 has a squared shape one in front of the radiator.

The dci100 has a rectangular intercooler behind the lower grille.

Plus, the dci100 is the only one that comes standart with rear discs. You can have rear discs on dci 65 and 80 but you have to order them with the ESP pack ;) (at least here in Portugal)

Cheers,
João.
