as above will this fit into a 172 and what are the differences as the price for a second hand 172 box is quite dear please help

It would becuase the 65's and 80's use the JC5 'box. However the ratio's would be far too long for use on a petrol clio. It would make it extremely slow and 5th gear would be vitually redundant iirc the dci's sit at about 2.1K in 5th at 70mph.

Theres a 340bhp turbo trophy on here using a dci box but that has more than enough power and more importantly torque to pull the longer ratios.

Have a look into rebuilds. Theres a few members on here who know some very good people who will do it. That way you can guarantee your getting a fresh boxrather than gambling on a second hand one.

PM Burp he knows a guy who does it cheap and very well iirc. Others like Fred also know people who can do it for you.
