Dci remap help please

  Clio 197
I have been quoted by a company called Celtic Tuning in Exeter £295 for a remap on my dci 100.

They said the gains could see from 100bhp up to 130bhp and from 147lbft torque up to 218lbft torque!

Could my engine handle this? I think I remember someone telling me the injectors can only handle so much power and torque?

Thanks in advance

Injectors can handles upto 130bhp, will need a uprated clutch when the original starts to slip & gearbox will take more strain.

Your engine can easily handle it, mine is at 125bhp. Martin's old 100 was at 130 and handled it fine.

Hmmm so 130bhp would be a bit risky with the injectors only being able to handle that? Do you think I should go for 125bhp?

Is it really possible to see 218lbft of torque though? From the standard 147lbft? Thats a huge increase!

And if the injectors can handle 130bhp does it matter how much torque the car has aswell? Will the injectors handle 218lbft?

i had 190lb/ft and toasted a clutch pretty quickly lol!!! id be worried with anything over that to be honest, thats the reason they are held back in the first place, my standard dci 106 has much the same engine but with a better gearbox and clutch and has 180lb/ft as standard!

i think their torque figure is optimistic, power sounds about right though, dont get held up on the figures too much, they can only tell you roughly what they will gain on your car, i find it a bit strange when companys do stuff like that quote 218lbft rather than saying a gain in the region of XXX

Thought Martin was putting kisses on the end of his post's at first glance there :rasp:
Your realistically looking at 22-30bhp gains, 40-51lb/ft Torque.

I've had mine done for a while now, a lot smoother and a peasure to drive. Give's lots of other drivers a shock at when they see a dCi flying along.

As Martin has said, don't get lost in the figure's.
