De-cat and Exhaust

I was considering buying a de-cat and full stainless steel exhaust system from K-tec. Can anyone recommend them? Also would the de-cat induce a lot of noise, because i do a lot of motorway driving, i dont want to make the noise inside the cabin even more than it already is. Any help much appreciated, thanks

I have just finished fitting K-Tec exhaust and decat on my car. It is fine at lower revs but when you open it up, it makes a lot of noise, although it does sound evil. Cruising is certainly louder than standard, but you can hold a conversation and have tunes on at 80+ so it is bearable. But it is very loud, but thankfully not to cheesy or boy racerish, if you know what I mean.

Did u get a exhaust aswell from K-tec? When it comes to MOT time, are you goin to remove the de-cat and put the old car back on? is it actually possible to put the old cat back on?? Thanks

Ive got a full exhaust and de-cat from KTR & I would definately recommend them. The loudness of the exhaust depends on the de-cat really. Ive got a straight through pipe and it sounds like a rally car, but they do silenced de-cats as well.

The cat/de-cat is only 4 bolts and is easy to change come MOT time.

Yeah you can put it on no problems. Could get your cams done next, and k-tecs upcoming chip, then youd have a popping, banging, fire exhaling 1.2!

Ive got a BB Tuning de-cat coming in the post and Im fitting it on Saturday. The Clio 16v/Willy engines have a massive, deep induction roar anyway - so it should be interesting to see what effect it has. I was convinced after I drove Loftys Willy-converted 16v a few weeks ago - even turning the ignition and starting the car had people jumping and car alarms going off!

My delivery is more seen I am in the back of beyond, but 320 for full K-tec plus decat, Yeah can make people jump on startup, which is quite funny
