De-cat for Cup



  X 200+ cup, now focus RS


i know Janspeed have a de cat out for a 172 twin lamda, if anyones got one is this gunna make my cup run crap or be a problem atall, and any advantages to it??

It will fit fine, it will run fine and youll gain a definate performance increase!

Any idea how much this de-cat is and where we can get on from then!?

ye its about 80 quid, i cant remember the company name but this is the number 01159 781173
 


is this the exact same as the ktec system they are selling for 300 nicker? will it defo fit the cup then? cheers

No...

This is a de-cat as in it completely removes the cat, wheras the K-Tec one is a replacement "sports cat" which is a lot less restrictive, but you still have a cat!
 


which in your opinion is the better mate for power gains? are they both stainless steel? when the mot is due can i simply change them over? cheers buddy
 


K-tec do a racing cat and a de-cat.

But their de-cat is for a mk1, so unless you have an exhaust with a telescopic section youll find it comes up about 2 inchs too short.

Probably minimal difference in terms of power gains, they both do the same thing, and thats remove restriction.

But the price of the sports cat is a LOT more than a de-cat!

Not sure what theyre made from, but I think the sports cat is SS

As for MOTs you need to swap back with a de-cat, but the sports cat will still pass the emissions tests, so can be left on!
