Ive just found that my cars not been performin too well cus my cat is ....ed. i went to a local garage and they said i can either buy a pipe for 70quid or as my cat is ....ed they can just bang all the stuff out of it and make more or less hollow. will this be ok and does it give much more performance. Bearing in mind this is all on a standard valver with the standard exhaust!

16v with cat 137hp 158nm 0-60 in 8.0 and 209 km/h

16v without cat (pre phase 1) 140hp 161nm 0-60 in 7.8 and 212 km/h

Im running a standard 1.8 exhaust on my car atm with a ktec decat, seems fine.

u can just scoop ur old cat if its feked,my brother in law did it 2 his rover 220gti and it worked so well hes done it 2 his new 620ti

Does work but make sure whoever does it gets all the honeycomb out. I tried it on my 106 but ended up going back a few days later cause there were bits of the platinum sh*t rattlin around and made my car sound like a bag of nails! Gives slightly better top end cause theres less back pressure but slightly less bottom end torque. Not that big a difference though TBH.

If you combine this with a 4-1 tubular manifold and good cold air induction kit you should get good gains. (Did on my old 106 gti anyway) Lets your engine breathe a lot better and gets the exhaust gases out quicker.

A little tip if you gona do this, its ok to do, but wear a face mask as the sh*t that comes out the cats is highly toxic.

make sure you get it all out.you dont wont bits of cat going down the rest of your exhaust because it could block it up
