im decating my clio, as i would expect it will give me bhp gains, amd it also increases fuel comsumption. but is it true i will lose top end speed? correct me on the above if im wrong.

You are wrong, if anything it will increae it, main gains i';ve noticed, not so much on acceleration, but the revs towards the top end are alot 'freeer', ansd so the car feels happier top end

What Clio do you have, generally the top speed is control by rev limit and gearing, nothing to do with exhaust/de cat.

Also, for the record bhp gains from a de-cat are minimal, liek anything you do to the exhaust system etc, you will get max gains if you have it chipped, but again this is turning a £35 de-cat (well it is from me), into a several hundred quid mod

well i have done everything de-cat is the last thing, i have a 1.6 16v dynamique. did you say i will lose acceleration?

You'll ahve a kob finding a de0cat for that car.

You won't loose acceleration, you just won;t gain alot, its more top end where the gains come in

i have one that should fir a 1.6 16v if your interested, only covered 50miles before my missus got paranoid about me getting a fine for having it on. is a custome down pipe and decat 2" bore. if your interested let me know, oh and it did make thae car feel a LOT quicker through the rev range, most noticeable was pick up when say, accelerating from 40 in 4th.

whose making it? this one is stainless steel, 2" bore as i said has custom down pipe, and i guarantee buying this one will be cheaper than buying one from the garage!
