dead 106, need a new car :-)

having just crashed my peug 106 (my mistake not paying attention at a mini round about:sick:) am now probably going to get a clio 182 some time in the next few months...just have a few questions?

how long is the wait for a new clio cup? (i need it by july)
how good/reliable are 2nd hand cars (my 106 was falling to apart once the millage hit 40,000)
any where cheap to get insurance? (23, 1 NCD, 1 claim last 5 years - direct line £2500)
whats the best way to buy? (keen on buying over the net, but not sure how easy it is compared to the dealers?)

There arnt many 182 2nd hand realy and with dealership offering cars cup packed 182s for £12.5k including the 0% interest free loan for 4 yrs the cars drop to about £11k. You could get a 1 yr old one for £10k so its only a grand saving.
There very relaible there the obviuos problems but there mine ones regarding the poor french wiring etc nothign much to stop the car from starting and being used every day.
Where abouts are you as a forum member on here is a saleman up Scotland way and will sell for £12k +325 for metalic pains for a full weight Cup packed car.
Insuracne depends you need to ring round laods of places. Tesco are good and Direct line but if you want mods Tesco can be pricy and you need a specailist often for a good price.
What about an older 2yr old say 172 for £7~8k?

If youve just written your 106 wont you need a car asap. Waiting till july wouldnt be an option would it? getting a second hand one would be much easier, right now people are struggling to sell their 172/182s even dealers dont like to have too many as they dont sell too well. My 172 is coming up to 40k and still feels fresh and fast. Insurance might be expensive, your best checking the interiors and insurance forum. also have a look in the car for sale section.

Im also looking at getting a new Cupd 182 and the first trip to the local dealer (Bridges, Newbury) I was quoted a price of £14k. Obviously there was no haggling being done at that time, still waiting for a test drive, but there was no mention of 4 year 0% finance deal.

Where are people getting their £12.5k deals from? Main dealers? And if so, are they anywhere near me??
Also is anyone being offered 0% finance or any other non-price incentives like free insurance or anything like that?
Option is getting one from St33ly but Scotland is a bit of a trek, not sure I fancy the trip just to make a saving........would rather beat my local dealer down if possible or find something a bit more local.

Any help/advice is much appreciated......

£12.4k is what I was quoted at a main dealership nothing dodgy its just business is quite quiet so there more willing to lower the price. They also would throw in the 0% APR as I think its a Reanult UK deal so it doesnt cost them anything.
Just tell the main dealer what ptice you can get from the scotland place and ask him to mathc (or get close) or take your business elsewhere.
Ive had dealers not willing to budge on list price and give usless trade in money as they dont need the sale.
Theres no free insurance or anythign just the 05 credit for a maximum of 4 yrs on offer.
The place which offered me that price is North West/ North Wales area.

Insurance is a bit steep - do you live in Liverpool? I got a quote from Egg.com for a 182 - 24y/o, 0 NCD, 0 points, 0 claims - £1,100 fully comp.
