Deal or No Deal?

Just had my second 197 test drive today, and I must say I was wholly impressed! :) Far more than the first test drive but then that's probably due to the dealer today simply handing me the key card and letting me take it out alone! :race:

Spec'd up an F1 Team R27 coming in at £17800 odd. Which sounds alot, but minus discount (10% = £16020) and the fact that he offered me more than £7000 for my RB 182, means the finance would be about £9000 and payments would basically be £50 more per month than I pay now....

All on 0% APR over 48 months!

Tempted? Lol! :rasp:

0% you can't go wrong, it is twice the cost of your 182 though. I guess you also get warranty etc. Ultra Red.

with the 0% , yep defo tempting but will the power be satisfying enough for 16k

Probably not at first, but get out of first gear and it is more than satisfying :)

Yep that's the problem, twice as much as the 182 means twice as much debt :dapprove:

Not ultra red ;)

meggie not tempting then;) or even a vee

Vee is more than tempting believe me Kully, guess it's just the draw of owning a 'brand new' car that I personally spec'd up.

Is it twice the car though?

In size yes ;) In other ways I'm not so sure!

to be honest mate, I wouldnt get into debt for the 197... its just not worth it.

Ive always said if you can't pay cash you can't afford it.

Very true Dan, you talk sense! :)

You can't beat buying a brand new car feeling! All your Christmas' as a kid rolled into one! :D

Exactly! :approve: and the £7200 he offered for my RB was a good offer I thought!

0% though, if you can sustain the debt then go for it, you only live once and if the RS is your main hobby you can afford the monthly repayments. Well thats how I justifed buying my car, although I have other expensive hobbies too :S

I can afford the payments, I suppose it's just a matter of is it really worth it? :S lol!

Ok, heres the spec...

Racing Blue
White Speedline wheels.
Xenons
Auto light/Wipers
Electric folding mirrors
Enhanced sound system

I think that was everything! :)

Red? Pah! I like to stand out! ;)

It would have to be RB or LY but i can't justify the LY as a £1200 option! :quiet:

I agree, I don't think I'd go back to halogen after having the xenons on the 182. If I was ordering a brand new car xenons would be a must for me!

  Clio 197
well I got cornering lights with sports headlamps & can't really tell the diff to xenons but only see them in the dark.

  Clio 197
Very true Giles, maybe I'll have to drive one in the dark to compare fairly? ;)

well it up to you

When I ordering my 197 & I pick the most options, then I have to pick one more which I want - Recaros or xenons.

I go for Recaros for the best :)

I'd not bother, within a year or two it'll be worth 10k and you'll be more than bored of it by then with a lot of finance remaning on the car.

Do the smart thing, let someone else take the first 'hit' and pick one up in a years time.

Very true, they had a LY F1 R27 with 2500 on the clock for £16400 I think it was.
