Ask the dealer about 13" wheels... will that improve MPG????

Also... ya could fire back at him... about the Megane 225... thats got 18" as standard? So Renault are making cars, to waste fuel? Not very green/eco is it ;);)

LOL - good answer! ;)

Yep, just sounds like renault crap to me.

When i had my old 1.2 clio, i had that lowered with 17's on, and an exhaust. They tried to blame my failing clutch on that. It went after just 15k miles, lol.

The dealer is clearly talking c**k - perhaps you should ask him how the exhaust, which merely carries the burn fuel away from the engine, contributes to increased fuel consumption, and how 17's, with the same rolling radius as normal wheels, will effect it that much... :-/

bigger wheels will make you appear to be using more fuel on the computer, but as to actrually making you use that much more fuel is doubtfull.

you see if that was me i'd be really pedantic, take the wheels and exhaust off but standard ones back on, and take it back claiming the same problem, just to prove a point. then i'd sue them for all the extra money i've spent on petrol which i neednt have done.

renault are c*cks end of

nobblebonce which dealer is it in? if its renault walker in stourbridge, there service department is w**k. Kirk Reading one of there sales guys is an absolute star though

how do you know you are using too much fuel....if you are looking at your display you need to reset as this takes in to account everything your engine does. if you check your mpg against your mph you willl find mph is very low therefore your computer gives you a low mpg figure. also this time of year you will use more fuel as more electrical items are used on your car!:dapprove:

i have 17's and an exhaust/filter and had 39 to the gallon on a 400 mile run on tuesday so agree with the rest - they are talking turd
