Dealer Problems

  Arctic Blue 182 Baby!
I was just after peoples onpinions on my situation as to what i should do.

I bought a 182 from a renault dealer several weeks ago, very thing went fine (apart from them putting 300miles on the car before i picked it up:mad: ), anyhoo when collecting the car i checked the manuals etc and my service record wasnt there. Now i told the guy before leaving the dealership and he said that he would get it posted out to me.

This sounds fine no probs, until i recieve the book today with a note saying that the original has been lost and that this is a replacement. But the replacement is completely empty:eek: apart from the REG number at the front.

The Car is on an 05 plate with 24k so it should defo have had 2 services.

I have contacted Renault customer services who i hope will get back to me tomorrow, but i would be intrested in hearing how you think i could get this resolved.

Thanks.

If the car was serviced at a main stealers then all the works carried out on the car will be logged on a database, u will then be able to get stamps 2 update ur book from them.

  Whichever has fuel
You go back to the dealership, sit down in front of the guy and explain that this is not good enough.

For a start, I would have not accepted the car if there was 300 extra miles on it. (blatantly, someone was driving it as a company car because they had nothing else about)

And not a chance would I accept a blank service book for a 3 year old car that should have had 3 services.

Don't piss about, just walk in tomorrow morning and tell him straight.

Oh, and don't take your car, he'll recognise you and either hide or make up a story. Thats what I used to do.

300 miles? lol, u need to grow some cojonies mate

Get the branch manager sit him down and explain the situation if he doesnt comply just say your gonna report the branch to Renault UK.

Have you got proof of the car being driven? (ie a picture of the mileage before you left the car) thats what i normally do.

Free tank of fuel and renault mats ftw

the trouble is the dealer is a 160miles from where I live, and I have reported them to Renault uk regarding the mileage and they claim it was used for 'demonstrations' and getting some new tyres. Renault basically dont want to know and im getting fed up with it.

I do have proof of the mileage as the original receipt says the mileage when I bought it and the Mot has the additional mileage.

I am going to phone the dealership manager in 5 mins see what he has to say for himself.

There is renualt dealers closer but this particular chain only has one renault dealer in the group which is 160miles away :(

I have just spoke to the berk i bought the car off and he is going to get the information from the service desk on monday. All i can say is why the f**k didnt he do this in the first place!

Another poor display from Renaults customer service, i wouldnt hold much hope from getting anywhere they really are a shower of tossers

i just dropped my car into renault for its MOT this morning. theyre doing it for free as it was meant to be done in march and theyve not told me.

anyways shouldnt they ask you if they can use basically your car as a demonstrator?

Give them a chance to sort it out, it shouldn't have had 300 miles put on it though. Fair enough a few miles for getting new tyres but that does give the indication they have put the right ones on.
How much was your deposit and did you commit to buying it?

the deposit was £500 and i commited to buying it there an then. Still waiting a call from renault uk customer services.
