decent remap or not?

basically found out about a guy near me who does remaps but he doesnt do live maps,he takes a copy of your own cars map,sends it away then when he gets it back loads the map onto my car.any good or not to go there?

That's what they all do mate.

The only reason they can't put some premade map straight onto the ECU is because there are a few checksums that need to be calculated and are different on each car I'm lead to believe.

Depends if it's a good job.. If they do a money back guarantee you've not really got anything to lose though have you.

Yep.

£200 is a good price if it's good. Superchips for comparison is £300 for a petrol.

remaps are comsusing, i got a clio 1.6 16v 2002.
but its got sagum ecu.
this mean they cant just plug a computer in. (angel tunning)
so they have to strip the ecu of silacone then remap it and refit it.
its a days work and usually is around £700 apparently

but there doin it for £450 and i get a free CDA cold air feed and filter throw in, which is better than my k&n

there is just loads of ways it can be done i suppose
